Hunter/Jumper Facility
Independence Farm stands as Northern Illinois’ premier hunter/jumper boarding and training facility, spanning 60 luxurious acres in Lake County’s picturesque North Shore. Our state-of-the-art amenities provide trainers with everything they need to help riders excel, while offering horses the highest standard of care. From our heated indoor arena and specialized equipment — such as our horse treadmill — to our customized feed programs, every detail reflects our commitment to excellence in equestrian sport.

Professional Training Spaces & Climate-Controlled Comfort
Our horses enjoy spacious, heated barns with exceptional ventilation and daily care that exceeds industry standards. Each stall features a limestone base with rubber matting and is bedded with premium pine shavings, cleaned twice daily to ensure optimal hygiene and comfort. Our facility includes 56 stalls in the heated main barn (12’x12′ matted), 26 stalls in the heated addition (12’x10′ matted), and 13 stalls in our traditional barn. Riders and visitors benefit from our 80’x200′ heated indoor arena, temperature-controlled tack room storage, spacious viewing room, and complimentary Wi-Fi access.

Expansive Grounds & Premier Riding Surfaces
Our 60-acre property offers riders breathtaking natural beauty and direct access to the Des Plaines River Trail and Independence Grove Forest Preserve. Two championship-quality outdoor arenas (150′ × 300′ and 80′ × 200′) feature Kruse Cushion Ride footing, providing “Hunter Derby”–style access to our 1.8-acre Hunt Field—allowing riders to jump into and out of the arena seamlessly. Additional amenities include a separate 30-acre field for riding, 16 four-board grass paddocks, and eight all-weather paddocks. Our outdoor arenas are dragged and watered daily to maintain optimal riding conditions.
